Matt Goodman · Rabbi MG

The person behind the worlds.

Storyteller. Songwriter. Filmmaker. Author. Creative director. Story World builder. Different languages for the same calling: find the story and follow where it leads.

The defining philosophy

“The story already exists. Our work is to listen closely enough to discover it.”

A life spent following stories

The medium kept changing.
The instinct stayed the same.

Matt’s creative work has moved through songwriting, storytelling, filmmaking, writing, faith, family, sports, community, and creative experimentation—not as separate pursuits, but as different ways of listening.

Sometimes a melody carries the truth. Sometimes it needs a camera, a page, a gathering, or an experience people can enter together. The work begins by paying attention, then letting the story reveal the form it needs.

Why Story Worlds™?

What world is already contained inside this story?

A meaningful story rarely belongs to only one medium. A song can become a film. A film can reveal a documentary. A family memory can become a book. A sports moment can become music, community storytelling, digital experience, and cultural participation.

The question became less, “What should I make?” and more, “What world is already contained inside this story?” That realization became the Story World™ model.

The stories that keep returning

Different worlds.
The same human questions.

A football stadium, a family heirloom, a rock opera, a prayer gathering, a love story—on the surface, the worlds can look radically different.

Underneath are recurring questions about what people believe, whom they love, what they inherit, what breaks, what heals, what brings people together, and what gives a life meaning.

Family · Memory · Inheritance

The stories closest to us can travel the farthest.

Family is not a footnote in the work. It is one of the places where memory, identity, rupture, love, and legacy become most visible.

12 Glasses™ grows from that terrain: a personal family story opening into literary, musical, cinematic, and experiential possibilities without losing its intimate center.

Faith

What are stories ultimately for?

Faith shapes the questions beneath the creative work: purpose, calling, redemption, healing, service, hope, community, and what our stories might offer one another.

It is present not as a slogan, but as an invitation—to look more closely, love more courageously, and imagine what can be restored.

From one creator to a studio

None of the identities disappeared.
They accumulated.

Eventually the connected forms needed a home. Rabbi MG Studio™ became that home: a larger model for discovering, building, and stewarding Story Worlds while keeping the founder’s human, story-first philosophy at the center.

Where this is going

The next Story World may begin with someone else’s story.

Rabbi MG Studio is being built as a place where meaningful stories can grow through collaboration—with universities, athletes and sports organizations, ministries and communities, filmmakers and musicians, creators, brands, nonprofits, cultural institutions, and strategic partners.
